Turn, Turn, Turn

I haven’t typed a word here since November 30, 2021 though mentally, I think of lots of things to write they never seem to make the journey to virtual paper. Life, as we know it, goes on, or maybe Life as we learn anew to navigate it goes on. The Assembly, who at one point consisted of Boo Kitty, Jae, Miko, Ray, and Julius now is just Julius and Chuck, the “new” 10 year old adopted cat.

After Ray passed and left a giant hole in our lives, we sought to fill that blank space with a few various puppies who were all pretty perfect, but Julius was not quite on board and after Miko passed, we realized what Julius wanted in a companion was another cat (or another companion like Ray) meaning someone to “be” with but not to interact with much, so with that in mind we created our want list (over 8 years old and known to have lived with a dog) and and like the blowing of a dandelion, we let the seeds scatter to the winds and waited for Chuck, with the assistance of our friends at Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control, to find us.

Orange You Glad…

Although we’ve lived with cats for about 25 years, I’d consider us to not really know much about them and an orange tabby was like bringing an alien being into the home. Chuck wasn’t about to be sequestered for his acclimation period and after just 24 hours here he decided he needed to get the lay of the land, so off he went to slink about the house and lay down the Rules According to Cat to which Julius was happy to comply.

While they aren’t best friends, they are comfortable companions, which is what I believe they both wanted.

Well. That was not what I came here to write about, but that’s what came out, so maybe just maybe there will be more…
